39 Bodies

39 bodies but I crawled back to you
Spring touched my skin and I knew it was true
But as we both ate our eggs, I drifted away
Suddenly focused on all my mistakes

I don’t deserve to be loved this way
Tell me that its fake

39 bodies but I’m here next to you
The warmth of your body still feels brand new
But as I sat on the train, I started to cry
Thinking of all our the past goodbyes

Could you still love the devil I hide?
Tell me that you’ll try

39 bodies 78 pairs of hands
Yet your fingers fit mine like toes in sand
But when your lips kiss mine, it hurts my brain
Thinking, can I still love the same?

Are we going to work out this way?
I’m hopeful at least today
